Cheeky star Steve Howey and his wife Sarah Shahi divorce


Shameless actor Steve Howey and his wife Sarah Shahi are divorcing after 11 years of marriage and three children together.

Shahi, 40, filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on May 4, according to People.

“After much thought and consideration, we have decided to end our marriage,” the couple’s statement read. ‘We are so grateful for the past 10 years together and proud of our children that we have raised.

‘As we enter this new phase of our lives, our priority will continue to be the joint upbringing of our children with so much love, mutual respect and friendship. And even though our relationship is changing, we are committed to continuing our lives as a loving family. ‘

In his presentation, Shahi mentioned April 14 as his official separation date, and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind the split, according to Us Weekly.

Howey, 42, and Shahi were married in Las Vegas in February 2009 after a two-year engagement.

Howey met Shahi when she was invited to star an episode of Reba in 2004, and he got engaged three years later during a trip to Hawaii.

Speaking of raising three children together, Howey told People in 2016: ‘It’s not easy, but all three are beautiful babies. We are a very close family, just bigger. ”

He also described how they managed to stay close in the midst of their busy parenting schedule.

The couple, however, made headlines in 2016 after their nanny sued them for back wages, harassment, and wrongful termination, alleging that they were subjected to verbal abuse and sexual harassment during their time working for the family, according to TMZ.

Her babysitter, Sarah Alaseri, claimed that she was sexually harassed by Shahi, and alleged that the actress joked that she should get in shape in order to ‘escape’ with Howey.

Alaseri claimed that Shahi detailed an affair she was having with a List A movie actor and made her look at photos of the man’s penis.

Alaseri, who is Muslim, also claimed that Howey would reprimand and reprimand her when she practiced Islamic customs in his presence.
