New Pixar movie soul It occurs largely between life and death, as high school band master Joe Gardner (voiced by Jamie Foxx) suffers an accident that separates his soul from his body. A fresh look at the film helps establish Joe before his brush with death, as it shows his love of music and his relationships with his mother (Phylicia Rashad) and his neighborhood nemesis Paul (Daveed Diggs).
It’s a warm and solid look at the film, which has shown more frenzied energy thus far by introducing 22 (Tina Fey), a soul who aids Joe in his quest to come back to life and forces him to consider why he wants come back to life first.
soul It was originally slated to release on June 19 (and was selected as part of the lineup for the canceled 2020 Cannes Film Festival), but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now slated to hit theaters on November 20.
