Crest
CREST: Charlotte FC’s crest and clean, circular shape are inspired by a classic coin, recognizing the city’s modern status as a major financial capital of the US, as well as its history as the first American city with its own branch from the US Mint.
CROWN: The centerpiece of the ridge is a four-point crown: the spiers represent each of the four rooms in Charlotte’s residential area, symbolizing the royal legacy behind the city’s name. Charlotte is the original queen city named after Queen Charlotte Sophia of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, wife of King George III of Great Britain, during the city’s founding in 1768.
KIND: The engraved typeface is a nod to Charlotte’s history of coinage, with a contemporary aesthetic with its white-on-black typeface.
MINTED 2022: The border brand commemorates the club’s inaugural season, while paying tribute to the city’s coin-making past.
Charlotte FC have already signed the first player in the club’s history, 25-year-old Spanish midfielder Sergio Ruiz, and they are on their way to build their reception staff with sports director Zoran Krneta, technical director Marc Nicholls, director of exploration Thomas Schaling and other hires, including a special adviser.
