The July 4th holiday marks an important milestone for Charlie Sheen.

The former Two And A Half Men star took to Twitter and announced that he was celebrating his first anniversary since he quit smoking.

‘Dear @my lungs, it was a year ago TODAY that I stopped smoking! hashtag: WELCOME! he wrote with an additional comic touch.

The 54-year-old man also shared his regret for acquiring the habit in the first place.

‘If I could go back in time and NEVER BEGIN, I would absolutely!’ she added before turning her attention to those who are still struggling with addiction.

‘If you’re on the fence about quitting, trust me; the sooner the better !’

Sheen’s milestone and words of encouragement have not fallen on deaf ears on Twitter.

One of his followers replied, “I need to hear this @charliesheen, while someone else added,” I quit on Monday. Thanks for the encouragement of an unexpected place.

Someone else applauded the platoon star for his achievement writing, ‘Good job, Charlie. I also quit a while ago. The hardest thing I did, but the best I did. ”

And another supporter gave him his support for trying to motivate others to quit cigarettes and replied, ‘Good for you Charlie. It’s very difficult, thanks for motivating others to quit smoking. ‘

Last December he celebrated two years without drugs and alcohol, and several of his family and friends went to social networks to send him messages of support and congratulations.

While he didn’t mark that particular occasion with a public post, he did share about reaching a year of sobriety in 2018.

‘So THIS happened yesterday! A fabulous moment on my renewed journey! She wrote along with a photo of her year-old sobriety medallion and the hashtag: #TotallyFocused.

Sheen had a highly publicized consequence of her years of substance abuse, which included suffering a stroke after a cocaine overdose, numerous seasons in rehab and clashes with the law, and mental health issues.

In 2015, Sheen publicly announced that he was HIV positive after being diagnosed four years ago.
