Charles Booker ‘strongly considers’ 2022 Senate bid against Rand Paul

Booker announced his decision on Kentucky Educational Television on Sunday, seeing his deep-seated red state that he could find common cause on crucial issues.

“The truth of the matter is that we are much more normal than otherwise,” Booker said. “And there are conflicts I’ve taken to the west end of Louisville that aren’t partisan – rationing my insulin, cutting off my lights, not seeing a place to live, watching loved ones fight drug addiction and quitting their jobs.” Our community never comes back. ”

Amy McGrath defeated Booker in the 2020 Senate Democratic primary, a huge fundraising operation, support for the Senate Democratic campaign arm, a number of labor unions and others who were drawn to her background as a former fighter pilot.
But Booker backed left-wing bids, the Green New Deal (which he called the “Kentucky New Deal”), universal basic income, and “Medicare for All”, which drew the support of progressive leaders across the country. They emerged as the national voice in protest of police brutality and racial injustice after the police killings of George Floyd in Minnesota and Taylor of Brebre in Louisville, Kentucky.

Last year, the B35 tax, followed by the youngest Black Kentucky lawmaker from 35 years of law and the state’s poorest peep code, argued that his message was uniquely appropriate for the moment.

McGrath defeated Booker by just a few points, and in the end he lost to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell by nearly 20.

The story has been updated on Monday with additional developments.
