Celebrities respond to Kanye West’s alleged 2020 presidency

Kanye West announced that he would run for president in a tweet on July 4, 2020.

“Now we must deliver on America’s promise by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future,” he wrote. “I am running for President of the United States 🇺🇸! # 2020VISION.”

Kim Kardashian West retweeted her husband’s message, simply adding an emoji to the American flag to show support for her new endeavor.

West’s announcement met mixed feelings from celebrities, fans, and social media users.

Comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish parodied West’s tweet, crafting her own ad with a similar tune.

“We must now deliver on America’s promise by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future,” he wrote, copying the opening line to West’s tweet. “I am also running for President of the United States 🇺🇸! # 2020VISION.”

Haddish replied to his own tweet, revealing his “running mate” for his offer, “So # HaddishChappelle2020”.

The actress struck up a speech with fans who challenged her choice of vice president.

“No Chapelle. Could you do it better! Trevor Noah! one fan wrote, to which Haddish replied: “He was not born in the United States, but he could be the press secretary.”

Paris Hilton even jokingly tweeted her own ad just hours after West.

“PARIS FOR THE PRESIDENT ✨🇺🇸👸🏼✨,” he wrote.

Octavia Spencer expressed her own views on the ad, tweeting first: “Too much nonsense today. #SitAllTheWayDown.”

The Academy Award-winning actress continued, adding, “It’s obvious that some people live in a bubble. It’s about time to burst it. # 2020vision.”

“Fuller House” star Bob Saget followed in the footsteps of Hilton and Haddish, asking if he should also run for president. The actor followed up the next day, writing, “I have a GREAT announcement to make!”

“Last night, jokingly, I tweeted and asked if I should also run for president … But thanks to all your kind support, I made a decision … Wait, because HERE IT COMES …”.

Saget’s big announcement? His running mate, “Full House” star partner John Stamos.

“HERE WE GO @JohnStamos !!!” he wrote.

Band of Ghosts actor and lead singer Eric Balfour did not hold back in his response to Kardashian West, writing, “Do you think this is all a joke?”

“That that potential departure from the only nominee who can beat Donald Trump is cute or fun? This is the height of privilege, ultimately it won’t hurt you, you’re rich enough to survive 4 more years of Trump! “

According to Reuters, it is unclear whether or not West has submitted official documents to appear on the ballots, but the deadline for adding independent candidates has passed in many states.
