Carson Wentz already talks about Jalen Reagor, and compares him to Julio Jones

We’re only two days into the padded practices of the Eagles and it’s already pretty clear that Carson Wentz and Jalen Reagor have built a strong report.

It’s about the field.

Because these two have seen movie together when they learn how to play with each other. Reagor said Wentz embraces that each receiver runs routes differently and he loves the way Reagor plays.

What kind of recipient does Wentz think Reagor is?

We watch a lot of clips with our routes and stuff, “Reagor said,” and he just says, ‘You’re explosive like Julio (Jones), you can run hard, you can jump high.’ That he compares me to many recipients.

‘He just says routes, certain people can’t walk. He’s just like, ‘You can run those routes.’ He puts it on there, he puts it on me, he puts it all on me and I am ready to get better and work on it every day.

Yes, we are in real training camp for two days and the 1st round of the Eagles has already drawn a comparison with the best receiver in football.

Now Reagor is a 5-foot-11, 197-pound rookie and Jones is a 6-3, 220-pound seven-time Pro Bowler. That it is not as if it is an honest comparison. But all Wentz said is that Reagor is an explosive player. Heck, that’s the reason the Eagles set him up.

And it speaks to the role that Wentz takes in the development of the young receiver, that he already talks to him a lot about this. Confidence is important for every young player; they need to know that they belong.

“Trust is me. I walk with confidence, I have confidence, ”Reagor said. ‘That’s natural to me. For him to see that in me, it just drives me harder to go because I do not want to be satisfied. ”

Wentz apparently has an interest in Reagor’s development, but the veteran quarterback is already under the impression of the rookie’s willingness to learn and desire to be great. On Monday, Wentz said he sees a bright future for Reagor and wants to help him tremendously.

During his first four years in the NFL, Wentz did not have that no. 1 recipient hand to grow with. He has a very tight end, he has some serviceable receivers and running backpacks, but no real no. 1 receiver. Think about Donovan McNabb’s career and how the Eagles never really found this stud to grow with him.

It’s so early and we do not yet know if Wentz has that in Reagor, but those two are well off.

“I feel like we’re gelling well,” Reagor said. ‘I love Carson, that’s my boy. I look forward to a long, long career with him. ”
