Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews also break their silence about being replaced by host “America’s Next Top Model” in a hilarious exchange.
“Dancing with the stars” It will look very different every time I return this fall. The overthrow of both Tom Bergeron – with the show since its premiere – and co-host Erin andrews in favor of Tyra banks it’s just the shiny surface.
the “The next top model in America” The creator will do more than just direct the broadcast when she returns for her upcoming season 29, she’s also a new and new executive producer on the show.

That gives her creative input when “DWTS” tries to evolve into a new decade and deal with an ongoing pandemic. As ABC described in their press release confirming the departure of Bergeron and Andrews, the show is heading in “a new creative direction.”
For now, though, that creative direction at least seems poised to keep Carrie Ann Inaba on the bench to judge. Whether or not they will join lifelong judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli It may be in the air, though she says that’s the plan, depending on coronavirus-related travel restrictions.
Still, the surprise of the reveal, which left fans reeling, was a severe blow to Inaba. In an episode of “The Talk” scheduled to air next Tuesday, he said on ET“I cried when I heard the news and I think many of our fans did it”

She further said that her heart breaks for “Tom and Erin”. At the same time, however, Inaba is confident and expects banks to demonstrate a positive addition to the famous franchise.
With that said, however, she disagrees with some of the words that have been thrown after it was announced that Banks was entering that host position.
For one thing, Banks was announced as the show’s first black presenter, which Inaba says is not entirely accurate. “The first season we had Lisa Canning,” she said, who co-hosted alongside Bergeron, just as Andrews has for the past six years. “

Bergeron also acknowledged Canning’s role, in a tweet from their time together where he assured fans that he is definitely not drunk.
As for Banks, Inaba also disagreed with his ethnicity in the discussion. Instead, he says Banks is the “new host for the show. Period. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin.”

Beyond that, Inaba seems to be hoping that Banks’ EP hat will really allow him to creatively boost the show. “She is like a visionary, she is a strong and powerful woman,” Inaba said. “I think we are in good hands. It’s different, the fans will have to get used to it, I understand, but I think we should welcome her.”
Banks shared some of the energy he is bringing to the show, while causing change, during an appearance on “Good morning america” on Wednesday.
“It is going to be the next level,” he said. “We are doing all these crazy things, taking them to the next level, but still keeping the things that we know the United States loves. But you must prepare yourself, because it will be different.”
Inaba says announcements about judges, and possibly other details on how the pandemic will affect production, should arrive in the coming weeks.
As for Bergeron and Andrews, they are clearly in a good mood about the whole thing. While sharing memories of his time with the show on his Twitter account, Bergeron recognized Banks taking over, noting that they shared the same initials in the most fun way.
Andrews quickly realized that, keeping things light and reminding fans of all the joy they brought to the show with his quick wit and jokes.
