Sunday’s game at US Bank Stadium was hyped by Carolina Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to return to Minnesota as a franchise quarterback, but rookie linebacker / safety Jeremy Chin stole the show with two touchdowns in 10 seconds.
Carolina’s second-round undertaking out of Southern Illinois picked up a strip sack through defensive text Zach Care and lengthened 17 yards for her first NFL touchdown on the third play of the second half. On Minnesota’s next play, China helped Dal Dwin Cook snatch the ball by running up the run up and he went 28 yards for the score that made it 21-10.

But the Panthers’ defense could not stay in the fourth quarter. A 10-yard touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins with 46 seconds left wide receiver Chad BB gave the Vikings a 28-27 lead and then missed a 54-yard potential game-winner after Panthers kicker Joy Sly.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Chin is the third player in NFL history to have multiple fumble-return touchdowns in the game. El Nasser had three for the Akron Pro in 1920 and Fred Evans had two for the Chicago Bears in 1948.
Chin is also the first player to make a defensive touchdown in a single game since Samson Ikuban for the Los Angeles Rams against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. He is the first player in Panthers history to score two defensive touchdowns in a single game.
This happened with Bridgewater, whose career began with a first-round verdict in Minnesota in 2014 and almost ended in 2016 due to a right knee injury during training camp, keeping an eye on the side.
Chinne, who is in talks for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, may have moved on due to two touchdowns.
