“Tiger King” star Carole Baskin is roaring about what could happen to the big cats that were housed in Joe Exotic’s former Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park.
It’s closed after the USDA’s animal and plant health inspection service revoked Jeff Lowe’s license, which now operates the zoo. “Jeff … closing the GW Zoo to the public unfortunately does nothing to free the animals from the serious abuse documented in recent USDA inspections,” Baskin said in a statement email to Page Six.
“Now that USDA will no longer be inspecting the facility, the animals are at even greater risk.”
Lowe’s Zoo was once owned by Exotic. Baskin was given ownership of the land by a judge in June, and Lowe was given time to suspend operations. During the inspection, the cats found a lack of adequate veterinary care. Lowe declared on Facebook: “The animals are now in private hands and will remain in private hands.”
Meanwhile, Baskin is trying to push forward a bill that would “invent disposal of puppies and private property.”
