In the match against the Sacramento Kings, Carmelo Anthony of the Portland Trail Blazers provided an extra punch off the bench with 21 points in his 23-minute game, reports Oregon’s Aaron Fantress. While the role of the bench is shifting significantly for Anthony, it is becoming clear that it is a role he is ready to take on.
“It was a different feeling, a different feeling, you know,” said Anthony of Ant Ant. “But once you get through it, it’s a basketball.”
Coach Terry Stots referred to what Anthony brings off the bench after the game.
Portland coach Terry Stotts said it would be nice to have the offense off the bench.
Anthony referred to how he approached change from being a starter, noting that one should take a “different mindset” to get off the bench and get into an already running game. Anthony indicated that he was ready to take on the role.
“I think if you accept it, then it makes it easier to deal with,” Anthony said.
