Down 3-0 and for elimination, Washington Capitals sports a spotty new look for Game Four.
Evgeny Kuznetsov took a razor to his hair and beard, leaving only a goat boss. He ended up resembling Walter White’s fan Breaking bad. Jakub Vrana shook his head. Several other players, including Alex Ovechkin, TJ Oshie, and Radko Gudas, shaved off parts of their playoff beards, leaving only a goat button.
So what was the inspiration behind this? The capitals were not exactly public.
“What’s going on with the team in the team,” Kuzy said with murderous remarks.

“Uhhhhh, yeah,” Oshie said on NBC Sports in Washington’s post-game show, according to Scott Allen of the Washington Post. ‘I think the group’s conversation has gone. [Ovechkin] started it and ride together, die together, you know? ‘
Yeah, okay. A solidarity thing. Got it.
“I think you always try to adapt and do different things that can give you an advantage, physically, mentally, and try different things to get yourself out of a funk,” said head coach Todd Reirden. “That has happened in all sports for years and years. This was an example of several things that went on in our team. Of course, there are many other things that go behind closed doors. We have a strong leadership team. We have a strong bond on our team and faith. If we get anywhere, it will be together. It was the most buy-in we had in the playoffs. “

Hmm… Alex Ovechkin has done play goatees in the past. But … that was more for a sponsorship with Gilette and that would not explain why Kuzy and Vrana shaved their heads.
Let’s see. What were the storylines? Hmm. Oh yes! Much of the conversation in Game Four was how Todd Reirden was outcoached by Islanders head coach Barry Trotz, the former Capitals banker who led Washington in the 2018 Stanley Cup and then left the team. Barry Trotz is naked and has a goat… Wait!
