Candiace Dillard on why people are starting to pay attention to ‘RHOP’

“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Candiace Dillard thinks “Housewives” fans are finally starting to vote for her franchise because of the drama between her and Monique Samuels.

‘I’m really of the thought of,’ Well, hey. Of course we are a great show! Like, thanks for the long time ago! “Yes, I absolutely feel that,” she said in the Wednesday episode of the episode “Reality Life with Kate Casey”.

She went on to say, ‘I honestly believe it was the loss of control by Monique that really gave the show more headlines. People were fascinated by someone who turned out to be – contained, compiled, drafted – how could it get to the point where Candiace is suing prosecutors? “

Page Six reported in December that Samuels, 36, and Dillard, 33, were trying to file lawsuits against each other, but the Maryland State Attorney’s Office dismissed both of them. The cases were filed last month over a physical change that took place in October.

Dillard was the first to submit, with Samuels counter-submitting and claiming that her actions were in self-defense.

She said on the podcast that she has not mated with Samuels since her confusion.

“No, I’m not tapping with her yet,” she said. ‘I will not do that. Everyone knows that. That has been made clear. I will never film another season of any show with someone who can do what she did, and then follow her to what she did like she did. “

Dillard also notes that the name of the franchise may have deterred some people from watching the show.

“I just think of number one, ‘Potomac’ is the only city / state in the ‘Housewives’ franchises that is not a common name,” she explained. “People could not even speak Potomac. I remember that day I saw ‘The Real’ and Adrienne Bailon was talking about us and she was like, ‘Yeah,’ The Real Housewives of Poto-mac ‘and I was,’ What? ‘ But I really believe the name made it harder for the audience to pick up. ”

The former Miss USA made it clear that she also appreciated the efforts of the original cast members, as there was a time after Season 1 (2016) that the cast did not know if there would be another season to be.

‘I remember I was,’ What’s going to happen? ’cause I’ve been watching from the beginning because I was excited about a second all-black ensemble cast on Bravo. So I think they really had to push and fight to make sure we could get to where we are today and here we are. Season 5. I think Season 4 is real when we started sinking our teeth into everyone and now we are solid on the map. Season 5 has done just that. ”

“RHOP” will be broadcast on Bravo on Sunday at 9 pm ET.
