Call of Duty: Warzone en Modern warfareThe fifth season is underway, and players have discovered a potential oversight. The new season increased the range for the FR 556 rifle, and at least one YouTuber thinks it may have broken another aspect of the rifle: the subwoofer rifle.
In Call of Duty: Warzone, players can attack underbarrel rifles on some of their weapons, allowing them to switch very quickly to a short-range weapon without having to pick up a second weapon lock. According to TheXclusiveAce, the FR 556’s underbarrel rifle is normally a two to three shot kill – not as potential as the average shotgun. But since the patch, the FR 556’s undercarriage kills in one long-range shot.
In its video, TheXclusiveAce points out that the FR 556’s underbarrel can now get a kill-one shot against a fully armed opponent 15 yards away. But this is not a simple buff for all guns under barrel. This only works with the FR 556.
As TheXclusiveAce says, this buff is unlikely to be intentional for the FR 556’s underbarrel. This causes some serious problems Warzone players, because guns are usually not as effective at that range – and certainly not if it is an attachment instead of a real hunting rifle.
The add-on has started to gain popularity since Season 5 patch, with streamers like HusKerrs using it to eliminate an entire squad at once.
In a comment thread on TheXclusiveAce’s video about the Warzone subreddit, user metalhead4 also claims that he used the FR 556 subbar to cause some chaos. “Yes, I just swept a squad of 3 with it. One ticked each of them. Use it while you can, it’s like the only time a gun has ever been in this game. “
TheXclusiveAce does mention some upsides of the break, such as how the FR 556 is not too handy in Warzone, and that you can not reload the underbarrel rifle with standard rifle ammunition. But the adopted bug will continue to frustrate players until Infinity Ward implements a solution.
We have invited Infinity Ward to confirm if this is a bug or is working as intended, and will update the story when we receive a response.
