‘Call of Duty’ causes big changes in ‘Warzone’ in season 5

As War zone released earlier this year, just in time for the first wave of coronavirus-related closings, not a ton has changed with the free game’s expanding map.

Warzone, The standalone Battle Royale title that exists in conjunction with Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, hasn’t been as prone to map changes as his rival Fortnite For the most part, the game has stuck to new operators and an ongoing story about the fictional city of Verdansk, where War zone occurs

Despite some mysterious bunkers, we still haven’t seen anything as drastic as a total map flood or a brand new map.

All of that may be about to change. We’ve had a series of leaks, clues, previews, and other clues to the fate of War zone in season 5.

The map could be destroyed. We can get a train running to the Apex legend. And one of the main points of interest can undergo a massive change.

The latter is a reference to the stadium, a giant POI that has remained closed to players from the start. You can run around the stadium, loot chests and fight enemies, but you cannot enter.

Thanks to a recent teaser from Call of Duty Twitter account, which seems to be changing when season 4 ends and season 5 begins:

“If the stadium had a name, what would it be?” Says the tweet. “Our doors are open to ideas

“Let them down.”

It is the second sentence (that I have marked) that has the key. “Our doors are open” is a determined phrase, a play on words that makes it clear that Stadium will open its doors next season and that players will be able to loot and fight inside.

That’s exciting. One of my favorite POIs is the prison, in large part because it has a very fun interior, both on the lower levels and in the large courtyard and the ramparts. It is a great place for loot and a fun place to take down enemy players. The stadium should, in theory, have the same appeal.

Season 5 of War zone and Modern war starts next week.
