Sony, as you know, is the principle marketing partner for the Call of Duty franchise, which means that every time the activation doesn’t take its toll, it should take a hard step between PlayStation when providing some additions. In the next Call of Duty: Black Ps Cold War, it means that only PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 owners will have access to the new two-player zombies in race mode.
It’s quite frustrating for fans on other formats, no doubt – but it still is, and it’s starting to get a little embarrassing from here. If you buy a Battle Pass on either PlayStation system, you’ll get an extra five tire skip compared to players on other platforms, allowing you to unlock that season’s gear and goodies more quickly.
Next, those of you who play at parties on the PS5 or PS4 will get an extra 25 percent weapon XP – even if you play with cross-platform teammates. And the bonuses don’t end there, as the only PlayStation Double XP events will come every month on Sony’s console. Oh, and you will have two additional loadout slots to boot.
Some of this stuff reads that it really just scares us from the bottom of the barrel. We understand that marketing partnerships are mutually beneficial for both the publisher and the platform holder, but as the industry moves toward unified communities, these bonuses are beginning to look completely embarrassing. Obviously the zombie snsleft mode is a big deal here, but other so-called PlayStation advantages call us stupid.
