California Wildfires: Relocation to Camp Pendleton in the vicinity of San Diego County Creek Fire

Naval Weapons Station – A fire near Fallbrook forced Camp Pendleton to evacuate for Deluge Housing, the Wound Warrior Battalion, and Lake O’Neill Campground.

A “creek fire” that broke out late Wednesday night near Fallbrook forced at least 7,000 residents to evacuate.

The southwestern part of the state is under red flag warning – hot, dry, windy conditions – until Thursday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service San Diego, gusty winds are at their peak and will “slowly but surely weaken.”

It is common for utility companies to develop a public safety power shutdown (PSPS) to protect equipment from fire in such weather conditions.

California's record-breaking wildfires consume about 1 million acres a month

Utility San Diego Gas & Electric (SDGE) has pre-emptively cut off electricity to 6,797 customers while 24,725 customers are on alert.

Southern California Edison (SCE) has cut off power to 19,216 of its 5 million customers and another 155,368 are under consideration. No San Diego County customers will be affected, according to the SCE website.
