The Taco Bell in Newman, California offers a free taco to any customer who pays for their food with rolls of coins, reports ABC 10. The move comes as the nation faces a national shortage of coins.
“It is definitely surreal for me. I was definitely surprised when my bank said, ‘Sorry, we’re limiting the amount of coins you can get,’ “general manager of fast food Christopher Beason told ABC 10.

Taco Bell is not the first restaurant to actively search for coins.
A Chick-fil-A in Alabama held a promotion to combat coin shortages, Fox News previously reported. If customers bring $ 10 in rolled coins, they will receive a free sandwich (along with $ 10 in cash).
