California man Tommy Macias regretted attending the barbecue party before dying of coronavirus


LAKE ELSINORE, California (KGO) – Fifty-one-year-old Tommy Macias of Lake Elsinore shared his regret on Facebook after going to a barbecue and testing positive for coronavirus.

“Due to my stupidity, I endangered the health of my mother and my sisters and my family. This has been a very painful experience,” Macías published.

Macías died the day he went to the hospital.

According to his Facebook page, Macías lived on Lake Elsinore in Riverside County.

Her family says Macías was diabetic and had been careful to wear masks and distance himself for months.

Her niece, Danielle López, said: “It was absolutely shocking. She was not in the room when my mother received the call. I heard her scream. I still don’t want to believe it.”

A day before Macias was taken to the hospital, he uploaded the poignant message to Facebook, pleading with people to wear masks in public.

Her family created a fundraiser to help with the funeral expenses.
