California firefighters had to advance more than just flames when a bull was given territory, as seen in a video.
Ventura County Fire Department captured the moment as it tried to extinguish the flames of a Lake Fire, with the bull charging on the road as firefighters scrambled to get out of its way. The bull with large horns, named in the tweet ‘Ferdinand’, slows down on a trot as it passes the firefighters sitting safely in their trucks.
“Ferdinand de Bolle did not turn around when he followed FFs down the road,” the tweet read. “Crews had the road ready so the engines could come to a light when they were chased.”
The department said no one was injured.
The name “Ferdinand” is probably a reference to the children’s book of the same name about a bull who smells flowers rather than fights in a ring.

Dealing with the Lake Fire has been more of an issue than a bull go down, with authorities saying the fire contained just 12%, the New York Daily News reported.
Bone-dried vegetation burned three wildfires near Los Angeles on Friday amid multiple warnings that new flares could form as temperatures spiked and humidity dropped during a statewide heat wave.
