Casino operators are reinforcing efforts to comply with Governor Steve Sisolak’s order for everyone to cover their faces in public.
Caesars Entertainment Corp. and Las Vegas Sands Corp. said covering their faces is a working condition.
In a message dated Thursday, Caesars CEO Tony Rodio said “not wearing your mask at work will be grounds for termination.”
The message underscores the importance of wearing facial coverage at work to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Keith Salwoski, a spokesperson for The Venetian, told Review-Journal employees not to wear a face mask or face mask “they will be subject to progressive discipline that may include dismissal.”
At Wynn Resorts Ltd., company officials say there are no mask issues for employees.
“We have not had any employees who refuse to wear a mask,” company spokesman Michael Weaver said Monday. “Our experience is that our employees want to keep each other and our guests safe, so non-compliance is not an issue.”
Representatives of Station Casinos and Boyd Gaming Corp. did not respond to a request for comment.
Meanwhile, MGM Resorts International has launched an internal campaign reminding workers that they must follow new health and safety protocols at all times, not just at work.
