BYU Vs. Boise State Score: No. 9 Congressmen made a strong statement in the route of No. 21 Broncos

The No. 9 BYU finally broke for its first win on Boyz State’s Blue Turf on Friday night, and the Cougars secured fashion with a 51-17 victory over the 21st Broncos. Victory improved to 8-0 at BYU as the Cougars continue to advance on the dark-horse candidacy for the C College Ledge Football Playoff with a statistically impressive effort against the best opponent on their 2020 schedule.

The Cougars gave Boyce State a 573-310 lead when the Broncos suffered their worst home defeat since the 2001 defeat to Washington and Washington. Injury to Boise State quarterback Jack Sears put the Broncos behind 2-1 as they were already without quarterback Hank Bach Chamier. After exiting his top two quarterbacks, the Boys turned to state freshmen Cade Fennegan and Andy Peters. Khalil Shakir was finally sought for a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to give Fenneg a lifeline to the Boli State.

At that stage, however, BYU had already put up with another formidable offensive performance. Quarterback Zach Wilson is connected at 21 of 27, passing for 359 yards without any interruption while surpassing the 2,500 yards he has spent in the season. The win was particularly meaningful for Wilson and other BYU upper classmen who took part in a dramatic 21-16 defeat at Boise State in 2018. That defeat went down 0-5 all the time from BYU in road games against Boys State, with three of those losses coming by one point.

The unsuspecting ones expected a B-capture game on Friday night as BYU entered the kick kick form as a 4.5-point favorite. Since joining the Broncos Football Bowl Bowl subdivision in 1996, the vision of defeating the state’s highest ranked enemy to play at Albertson Stadium has quickly changed. Tyler Allgier ran 86 yards for a touchdown on BYU’s second offensive game, Sears was injured shortly afterwards and the Cougars cruised the rest of the way.

BYU’s next game is November 21 against FCS’s North Alabama. The Cougars are set to conclude their 10-game slate against San Diego State on December 12th.
