Before christmas Tortured by the retailer on Monday, the next-gen consoles went live on Best Buy at 6am PT (9 am ET) – and the site was hastily cracked down on demand. Like Walmart and other retailers earlier this season, pre-planned inventory drops are creating such a demand that retailers ’sites crash or become effectively unusable. Best Buy site at 6 p.m. Immediately after that was showing “sorry, something went wrong” messages on many product pages for the console in question.
10 a.m. P.T. Before CNET. It was able to confirm that the Best Buy website started selling at least some of its PlayStation 5 stock to some users, although you had to be quick and lucky to get through the checkout. Despite the yellow “Add to Cart” buttons appearing, Best Buy’s app was giving pop-ups advising shoppers that in some cases it wouldn’t be able to add an item to the cart and “more inventory will be released every few minutes.”
A “tip” has been added to the pop-up that if you can get it in the cart, “go checkout quickly because it will sell soon.”
Around the PT5, Best Buy began listing Xbox consoles for sale, although like the PS5 you can quickly check if you have the opportunity to add it to your cart.

Is there still an inventory for PS5 or Xbox models? It’s unclear, but if you want to try your luck here are links to the company’s pages for all four consoles.

On paper, the Xbox Series X is the most powerful of the next-gen consoles.
Even though the sale started a month ago, it is incredibly difficult to find new PlayStations and Xbox. The Best Buy tweet was retweeted 1,600 times within 50 minutes of announcing there would be more stock on Tuesday.
Has anyone really been successful in buying one today? Based on the narrative (and unreadable) screenshots on Twitter like the one below, it looks like at least the lucky ones made it through:
