GERB is ready for elections whenever they are. Now, however, the voting will be different due to COVID-19. The vote of our compatriots abroad will be especially special. Our ambassadors have already been instructed to begin preparations. However, it is risky to adopt risky ideas like voting by mail before elections. This opinion was expressed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ekaterina Zaharieva.
He told bTV that in some countries there may be stricter measures and limit the opening of sections.
“I have been in two offices. Our CCA is not ad hoc, it is professional. We rely on the experience of the administration,” Zaharieva said.
The deputy prime minister has criticized the president, who has said the election will be rigged.
She insisted that consultations be held to choose a date, not after that, recalling that Radev already released the date March 28.
On the issue of North Macedonia, Ekaterina Zaharieva pointed out that in our western neighbor there is an attitude of waiting for the result of the elections in our country to continue negotiations. However, he warned that the vote would not change our national position.
“I think one of the prerequisites for doing something sensible is reducing emotion,” Zaharieva said, adding that in northern Macedonia, relations with Bulgaria remain the number one issue.
According to her, they feel a bit victimized that Bulgaria is trying to prohibit their right to identity. However, Zaharieva insisted that this was not the case at all. Bulgaria insists on the end of the anti-Bulgarian.
Ekaterina Zaharieva said that everyone was shocked by what happened in Washington. According to her, the disturbances in the Capitol have shown that democracy is not a fact. However, Zaharieva is convinced that the United States will take care of the problems.
