In recent days, our family business and my family have come under unprecedented public attack. Some of the Bulgarian media were misled into incorrect and biased coverage of what happened. Our position as a party affected by the direct suggestions and speculations of Marian Kolev, owner of Hypoland, was never sought. In practice, non-commercial methods and unfair commercial practices were used, leading to market distortions. Nobody wanted to hear our point of view.

Since we were attacked with a lot of fake news and lies, we will share with the Bulgarian public the most important facts about the fictional scandal created and generated by Marian Kolev.

Brand Media Bulgaria distributed audio interviews with Marian Kolev

Our history spans more than three decades. To date, we have 22 stores with more than 250 employees. We are official representatives of world leading companies. We have never had personal conversations about buying, selling or transferring properties. All business-related transactions or negotiations with contractors have been conducted solely through our leading law firm.

Politicians are not involved in any way in my business and I have never spoken to members of the executive branch. Politicians have never influenced or stopped inspections at my company.

We are in my business together with Dr. Danail Genev. He has been conducting long-term and successful business in various sectors of the economy, and we have been together for five years. The man next to me joined the family business after a decision made by my late father’s partner. In other words, this is the most common situation in a traditional family business.

Hypoland owner exposes “Yes, Bulgaria” (audio)

Unexpectedly for us, our direct competitor takes advantage of the country’s political events, causing us severe reputational damage. Behind the backs of the protests and protesters, he discredits us in front of customers, in front of Bulgarian and foreign partners, in front of society. In the context of the economic crisis, following the global pandemic, our retail chain has come under unprecedented pressure. Abusing the trust of the media and citizens of the square, Mr. Kolev used non-market methods to influence the market, to secure an unfair advantage and cause us economic, moral and image damage.

Mr. Kolev’s attempt to declare himself a near-repressed victim by the authorities is also unexpected for us. We remind you that the boom in your business, not only in the toy trade, but also in many other areas (including construction), is strongly associated with the last 10 years in which the main political party ruled today.

I hope and believe that civil society will draw the necessary conclusions and understand the truth. And for everything else, I will trust the Bulgarian court. “
