The Bulgarian national soccer team has lost to Italy, Switzerland, Northern Ireland and Lithuania in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
A total of 55 teams from the Old Continent will participate in the battle for 13 spots. The winners of each group will receive a direct place in the World Cup, and their runners-up, along with two teams from the Nations League, will participate in the playoffs for the remaining 3 installments.
The 2022 World Cup is scheduled for the dates between November 21 and December 18, 2022. Bulgaria has not participated in the final phase of the 1998 World Cup.
