“The characteristic of this case is that if it is from an active criminal contingent, it will take some measures to disguise itself, but it has not taken such actions,” the minister explained.
“She was detained by a decree of the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office for 72 hours and psychiatric examinations will be ordered to see the motives and reasons for this action,” Terziiski added.
He added that they do not have data that the person works in a formal job, most likely unemployed.
“The weapon he used was a gas weapon and it belonged to his relative. It is legally owned,” he added.
“Statistics from the beginning of 2020 show a decrease in all types of criminal activity,” added Hristo Terziiski.
“The decrease is in theft and fraud. However, we see the same level of criminal activity in domestic violence, compared to 2019. Everything else is going down,” added the minister.
The minister also drew attention to the case in which a repeat offender appeared as a cashier and stole part of the pension of an elderly man in Sofia.
“The detainee got out of jail very early and so far we have documented two cases committed by him. I think he will get what he deserves,” Terziiski added.
Minister Terziiski also explained that the economic situation of the country affects the criminogenic situation.
“It is normal, when people’s incomes are reduced, if they are self-conscious and do not have a criminal tendency, to follow the rules of public life. However, there are those who find themselves in a dead end and can do something,” he explained.
However, the minister insisted that there could not be police in all stores.
“The holidays are approaching and we want to be where there are a lot of people to maintain public order,” Terziiski added.
Wait for details.
