A new study rejects some of the widely accepted claims.
Electric vehicle buyers are widely believed to drive fewer miles due to the limited mileage of their cars, while those of diesel cars do the exact opposite due to low fuel consumption. However, data from the British RAC Foundation Fund proves this is not the case.
It turns out that Tesla owners record the highest mileage in the UK, an average of 19,934 km. For comparison, Mercedes-Benz drivers cover 19,360 km and Land Rover – 17,145 km. However, it should be noted that this does not apply to all current models. For example, The Renault Zoe drives much less: 9,177 km, but it is still a small city car.
In this case, the range of Tesla electric vehicles is slightly less than that of diesel cars, which cover an average of 19,950 km. However, all this shows that electric cars are no longer considered exotic in the UK, but are vehicles that are operated on a daily basis.
Average UK mileage by brand:
Tesla – 19 934 km
Mercedes-Benz – 19 360 km
Volvo – 18 524 km
Ford – 18380 كيلومتر
Mitsubishi – 18329 km
Volkswagen – 18051 km
Citroen – 18035 km
Renault – 17,478 km
BMW 17374 km
Land Rover – 17145 كيلومتر
