There, 34 people are being treated in the infectious room and another 4 are in intensive care. A COVID laboratory will open in the old District Hospital.
RHI-Sofia head Dr. Dancho Penchev announced that he was issuing an order to increase the number of beds for treating COVID-19 patients.
The treatment capacity of COVID-19 patients at Targovishte hospital is at 99%. About 50 patients are treated there. In Sliven, the regional hospital “Dr. Ivan Seliminski” urgently needs the opening of 10 more COVID beds. Currently, 45 beds have been opened in the largest medical facility in the region, in two wards for patients with coronavirus infections.
An additional 180 beds will be opened for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in four Varna hospitals, the Regional Crisis Headquarters decided. 10 of the 120 beds currently available are free, but people from other regions (Burgas, Dobrich, Shumen) also come to the city for treatment, and the capacity will soon be full.
The 80 beds available in MHAT-Shumen for the treatment of coronavirus are already occupied. In addition, there are 15 suspected patients in the hospital and the results of their PCR tests are awaited.
The Infectious Disease Clinic at St. George Hospital in Plovdiv is overcrowded and there are only 28 beds available in the city and district for severe cases of coronavirus.
