What percentage of doctors want to get vaccinated against COVID-19?

Surprisingly low interest of our country’s medical personnel for vaccines against COVID-19. This is demonstrated by data from the Ministry of Health. Only 11% of employees who have the right to get vaccinated first wanted to do so.

In the area, which includes Plovdiv, Haskovo, Pazardzhik, Stara Zagora, Smolyan and Kardzhali, just over 30% of the district’s 29,000 medical workers will be vaccinated! The percentage is high for the country, but low according to the expectations of the health authorities.

“The fact that there are still colleagues who want to choose another vaccine has an impact. We had a lot of doctors, nurses, paramedics who had a COVID infection or are currently ill, so at this stage this is an absolutely real percentage,” he said Siika Dimcheva, secretary of RHI – Plovdiv.

47% of first-line physicians expressed a desire to be vaccinated

She herself is also on the list of doctors to be vaccinated and urges more of her colleagues to do the same.

“I am an epidemiologist. I believe that this is what has saved the world from many catastrophes and that we now have long-lived people is the result of vaccines,” explained Siika Dimcheva.

And experts have warned that people with classic allergies may react to the vaccine.

“If there is biological material, there can always be some kind of resistance from the organism to show that it somehow doesn’t fit. Theoretically, at least this type of vaccine that we are talking about, Pfizer and BioNTech has a relatively low potential to cause such reactions, “said Professor Todor Popov.

However, most people were expected to have little or no negative bodily response to the vaccine.
