During today’s inspection of the Hemus highway construction near Pleven, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov also indirectly responded to requests for his resignation, saying once again that he would step down if “there was someone to hand it over to.” .

“Who do you give yourself to … we want, but there is no one. If they are better than ours, the people will elect them in the next elections. Everyone has the right to act. When they are within the law, they are right,” said the Prime Minister.

Borissov also commented on today’s protest by the mayors of small settlements, who held a silent protest in Kalofer. His request is that each settlement have its own financial framework, which the mayor of the municipality is obliged to fulfill, and not as now, at his discretion. They also demand that the threshold for appointing mayors of municipalities be returned to 100 people, because now more than 270,000 people are deprived of the right to choose their own mayor.

“I connected the young mayors with Kiril Ananiev, they will meet on Thursday at 10.00 and there, if necessary, the financing law will be changed. We will regulate this in law, ”emphasized the Prime Minister.
