On October 5, the repair of the first 12 km of the Trakia motorway will begin on the Burgas lane of a total of 52 km, which will be renovated in stages. The section to be repaired runs from km 156, after the Belozem road junction, to km 168 before the Orizovo road junction. During construction activities, the traffic will be bi-directional on the Sofia lane, and the speed will be up to 70 km / h. Drivers must drive with caution and strictly follow traffic signs.
Due to repair works, the connection of the “Plodovitovo” highway junction of the “Trakia” highway on the Burgas lane to the third class highway III-666 Orizovo – Plodovitovo – Parvomay will be closed. Travelers to Parvomay can exit the Trakia highway near Chirpan and return to Plodovitovo and Parvomay via second-class highway II-66.
Construction activities on the 12-kilometer stretch include a complete replacement of the asphalt pavement, improved drainage, placement of new horizontal marking, road marking, and containment systems. The repairs will be carried out by the company “Autopistas”, with which the Road Infrastructure Agency has a contract under the Public Procurement Law for the maintenance of the “Trakia” highway.
The repair of the 12 km is expected to be completed in late October and early November. If time permits, works will continue in the direction of Burgas on the 40-kilometer stretch from Orizovo to Stara Zagora. When the repair of the highway to Burgas is completed, the highway to the capital will be repaired next year.
