Bulgaria is ready with its vaccination plan against Kovid-19. Our country will start with the preparations for “Pfizer” https://news.google.com/ “Biontech” and “Modern”, but only after they are approved by the European Medicines Agency.
In the first phase, more than 240,000 doctors will be immunized: doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and all medical personnel.
The second phase is the turn of teachers and people who live in social homes, as well as their staff. Their total number is expected to exceed 112 thousand people. What is specific is that mink farm personnel are also included here.
Follow the third phase. It will immunize employees who support the operation of basic activities. This includes the police, as well as those working in the energy and water sectors.
One million 800 thousand people will be vaccinated in the fourth phase. These are people aged 65 and over, as well as people with chronic diseases.
And in the fifth phase it is the turn of vulnerable groups due to their conditions and way of life.
Vratsa is defined as one of the six vaccination and logistics centers. The local RHI will coordinate actions throughout the Northwest.
The Vratsa Regional Hospital has a COVID ward, which treats the most serious cases.
“Currently we have several serious cases here, they are not on mechanical ventilation yet, because we are trying to give them one last chance, because they have a better chance before intubation. I hope that we fight and that everything has a positive end,” announced Dr. Zlatomir Kolev on bTV.
Zlatomir is a young specialist and resuscitator who has chosen to stay in Bulgaria. He joined the fight against the pandemic in the spring.
“Back in May, when the Varshets station patients were admitted, a resuscitator was needed. I applied, I didn’t think about it,” says Dr. Kolev.
While other colleagues give up on the great danger, he says he has “assessed the risk”: “I am at a (young) age and have no comorbidities. In the last seven months, good to see.”
As for the upcoming vaccination of doctors in the first phase, Zlatomir reveals that he does not intend to take advantage.
“Vaccines are a good thing, we are talking about the mandatory vaccines that are included (in the vaccination plan). They have saved us from many dangerous infections, but unfortunately, for this COVID-19 vaccine, at least for me, there is not enough convincing evidence that it will be 100% effective and 100% safe. In medicine there is a so-called risk, the benefit of any drug or treatment, the risk must be weighed very well and what the benefit will be. That is why I think it is good for everyone to be informed and judge for himself. I welcome the government’s decision that it will be voluntary and free, “said Dr. Kolev.
Another colleague also said that he would not be vaccinated because he had contracted the disease. Dr. Kolev has not heard from hospital staff that anyone has categorically said that he will be vaccinated.
On Friday, Vratsa pharmacists said they were ready to be vaccinated if the European Medicines Agency approved the drugs. Other doctors in the city said they had not made a decision yet and were waiting for more information on the reliability of the vaccines.
Facilities have already been set up at RHI-Vratsa, where vaccines can be stored. There they are also ready for immunization.
