A 50-year-old man from Varna surprised his girlfriend, with whom they were on vacation at a hotel in Bansko. For reasons unclear to police, the man attempted to stab himself with a knife, intending to commit suicide, reported struma.com.
The scene unfolded before the eyes of the woman he was with.
With an effort, the lady removed the knife from his hands, making the wound he inflicted on himself superficial. They took him to the local emergency center, where they examined him, treated his wound and released him.
If there was a scandal between him and his girlfriend that led to the decision to commit suicide or a demonstration of a mentally unstable man, the city police are clarifying.
This is the second unpleasant incident in the resort town. We remind you that yesterday, again in Bansko, a young man who worked as a volunteer in the mountain rescue service hanged himself on his birthday. His wife and children were in the other room. It is said that he is depressed.
