The new Varna Boulevard “Vasil Levski”, which has invested more than BGN 100 million from the state budget, has failed again.
This time, a huge hole was opened in the Maxuda area. The Save the Varna group reported on the incident. The municipality of Varna has confirmed the problem with the pavement of the boulevard.
The hole is in one of the local candles. This part of the boulevard is approximately one year old. The project, which included the repair of an existing 2-kilometer route and the construction of a new three-kilometer route, is being implemented in the period 2017-2019.
An accident from a water supply line supplying a fire hydrant on the local lane of Levski Blvd., on the section between Vladislav Blvd and Devnya Street, is causing the asphalt pavement to fall this morning, according to an official statement. Varna Municipality.
The water supply and sewer systems have stopped the water. The Hydrostroy team laid gravel, after which the section will be paved again. The elimination of the accident is at the expense of the contracting company, since the site is under guarantee, according to the municipality of Varna.
Nikolay Pashov, CEO of Hydrostroy, explained to the Moret site that the cause of the lane collapse is due to subsidence of the soils and removal of inert materials from the water.
This is another incident with Vasil Levski Blvd., which became famous for the oval roundabout after launching traffic in April 2019. It first collapsed into the highway lanes again in Maksuda, then it collapsed and was part of a crossroads caused by strong rains. This time the incident occurred in dry weather.
