Varna made a sacrifice in the battle with COVID-19

Popular and beloved artist and chief stage designer of the Varna Theater Todor Ignatov has lost the battle against coronavirus, writes Varna24.bg. The sad news was announced by his family and friends on the social network.

A few days ago it became clear that Toni Ignatov was admitted in serious condition to a Varna hospital, but despite being provided with blood plasma for his treatment, the radiant Bohemian from Varna failed to defeat the nightmare virus.

Toni Ignatov was born in 1951. In 1970 he graduated from the Higher School of Art, Sofia, and in 1976 – the Academy of Arts, specializing in “SCENOGRAPHY” with Prof. Asen Stoychev. In the same year he was accepted as a member of AMX.

Since 1977 he works as Chief Artist-Designer of the Stoyan Bachvarov Dramatic Theater, Varna.

Tony has 11 solo art shows and 4 solo “Scenery” shows.

He has won 5 scenography awards. There are 150 theater productions, 9 television productions, 6 television novels, television programs for children, 6 pop concerts, 9 concerts of popular and classical music, 8 coffee theaters, 5 operas, 2 ballets, 14 operas for children and many television concerts.
