Valteri Botas won the Eiffel Grand Prix in F1. The Mercedes driver recorded the most laps in 1: 25.269. His teammate Lewis Hamilton finished second with 0.256, and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished third with 0.293.

The air temperature at the beginning of the qualification was 8 degrees and that of the asphalt 13. The humidity was around 60%.

The first fastest lap was recorded by Nico Hulkenberg, and the leader after the first few rounds was Hamilton, but his time was improved by Max Verstappen. Boots also posted a better tour than his partner

Ten minutes after the start of Q1, the leader was still Verstappen, followed by Mercedes drivers and Charles Löckler.

5 minutes before the end of the first qualifying in the danger zone were the drivers of Alfa Romeo and Haas, as well as Nico Hulkenberg. At the end of Q1, Kevin Magnussen and Sergio Pérez made the top 10, and the drivers who could not continue in Q2 were Romain Grosjean, George Russell, Nicolas Latifi, Kimi Raikkonen and Lance Strol replacement Nico Hulkenberg.

At the beginning of Q2, almost everyone started on soft tires, except for Ferrari drivers Mercedes and Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo, who had a medium.

Hamilton topped the classification 1: 26,183 on medium tires, followed by Boots, Loeckler and Vettel. Unsurprisingly, Verstappen improved Lewis’s time to 1: 25.720 on the softest tire type. Teammate Alex Albon gave up for the third time and Vettel stayed out of the top 10.

5 minutes before the end of the session, the Mercedes and Ferrari drivers put on soft tires and Hamilton improved Verstappen’s time to 1: 25.390. Boots failed to improve on Max’s time and finished third.

In the last minutes all the pilots improved their times. Charles Löckler was out of the top 10, but on his final lap he climbed to fifth place, sending teammate Sebastian Vettel out of Q3. In the end, in addition to Vettel, Pierre Gasley, Danil Quiat, Antonio Giovinazzi and Kevin Magnussen also retired in Q2.

The first to enter the track in the third classification were the McLaren and Mercedes drivers.

At the start of the session the leader was Boots with a time of 1: 25.812, only 13 thousand faster than Hamilton, but shortly after Max Verstappen moved Boots from first place with 1: 25.744. Alex Albon and Charles Löckler were behind the Mercedes drivers. The only timeless competitor was Sergio Pérez.

At the end of Q3, all the drivers put on a new set of soft tires and took to the track.

Hamilton improved on Max’s time, but was replaced by his teammate, and Verstappen was only third. Charles Leclerc finished fourth and Red Bull co-driver Alex Albon finished fifth. The best Renault drivers, Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon, Lando Norris, Sergio Pérez and Carlos Sainz completed the top ten.
