The vaccines will go to hospitals, for doctors, teachers, retirees, and then they will make them and the GPs for all who arrive.
The first 4 freezers to store the Pfizer vaccine at -70 ° will be in Sofia and Burgas. Pirogov and the Academy of Military Medicine will also help
This type, with messenger RNA, lasts up to 5 days in a normal refrigerator
Most likely, by the end of the month, and certainly immediately after the New Year, Bulgaria will receive the first doses of the Pfizer vaccine and immunization will begin immediately. This was announced by Health Minister Kostadin Angelov after a government meeting on Wednesday.
A vaccination plan should be announced on Friday to cover 60-70% of the population. This week, the Ministry of Health will also receive the first 4 freezers, which are frozen to minus 70 degrees to store the vaccine. They will both be in Sofia –
at RHI and at
“Bulbio”,
the state
company that
produces BCG
the vaccine in our country,
the others will be in Burgas. These are 850 liter freezers that will store a large number of doses. Once removed, they last up to 5 days in a normal refrigerator.
The Military Medical Academy and Pirogov have their own refrigerators and will help, too, their bosses explained. Ventsislav Mutafchiiski and Prof. Asen Baltov.
The two large hospitals will also receive some of the first vaccines. The Military Medical Academy will be responsible for immunizing the military, but will also help implement the government’s plan for citizens, Mutafchiiski said. “Pirogov” will also join, assured Professor Baltov.
The vaccination will be
voluntarily
and completely
free,
and each citizen will be able to choose which vaccine to administer, Minister Angelov said.
The first wave will be for groups at risk: doctors, teachers, police and military, chronically ill and retirees. It will be done by hospitals. Later, GPs will participate in mass vaccination, explained the minister.
Then it will be necessary to register anticipated hours in their offices, because
the injection
the solution will be

in advance
in the places where the vaccines will be stored, and so they will be delivered to them. This was explained by Prof. Angelov later in the day at a meeting of the parliamentary health committee.
Vaccination requires a healthy person. It is unclear how this will be established, whether with rapid antigen tests, for example. Or the presence of antibodies will be checked with blood tests. Pfizer’s first vaccines cannot be placed outside of RHI or large hospitals due to the requirement to be stored at -70 °. That is why the jeeps will be included after the delivery of the vaccine to AstraZeneca, which does not require extremely low temperatures, explained those familiar with the government plan.
A special coordinating council will be responsible for implementing the immunization plan. It will be led by the head of the Bulgarian Red Cross, Prof. Krassimir Gigov. The professor is experienced in organizing logistics, has carried out several important immunization campaigns, praised by Gen. Mutafchiiski.
(Who is Professor Krassimir Gigov? See below).
Achieving immunization of 60% of the population will mean the end of the infection. But even if only 10% of the population of Bulgaria is vaccinated, this will be a great relief for all systems, because doctors and teachers will be able to work with peace of mind. Don’t be so scared and don’t spray infections on them.
But until the 60% level is reached, all measures, such as protective masks and avoiding physical contact, must continue to be strictly observed. Probably the entire immunization process
to be continue
6 months
The pandemic has cost the state 2 billion BGN so far, Professor Angelov said. And 10 months after it started, the government finally adopted an updated national action plan against the pandemic at the suggestion of the Minister of Health. However, this document is a framework and describes the interaction mechanisms of the institutions, and for each specific threat a separate plan will be developed, since there are those of influenza and COVID, explained the Chief of Health Inspectors of the Associated State Prof. Angel Kunchev. Professor Angelov recalled that the plan against the coronavirus pandemic had already been presented by him to the National Assembly.
Guidelines from WHO and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control have been used in preparing the plan. The main objectives are to reduce the incidence and reduce mortality from pandemic infection, provide optimal conditions for the treatment of patients, maintain key sectors and services such as health, security, transportation, etc., provide constant and reliable information on the population, said Angelov .
The partial closure is already paying off, according to health authorities. According to the minister, if the trend continues and takes effect before December 21, a gradual opening will begin.
I’ll be the first

He confirmed.
I see how restaurants, hotels, pensions try to evade the measures. Please send me any reports of a violation urged. Angelov also asked conscientious citizens to comment on those who do not respect the restrictions.
We are importing another 3.5 million into the EU to continue development.

The state will set aside BGN 75 million to provide COVID-19 vaccines over the next year, and if more funds are needed, they will be provided through transfers.
This was explained by the Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov, to the deputies of the parliamentary committee on health on Wednesday. In an extraordinary meeting, he presented the draft decision on the participation of Bulgaria in the agreements concluded by the EC for the purchase of a coronavirus vaccine.
Unanimously, with 12 votes in favor, the deputies approved that our country receive vaccines from 5 of the pharmaceutical companies that develop them. These are AstraZeneca, Sanofi, Pfizer, Bayontech, and Jansen, and the vaccines themselves are of three types: antigenic, viral, and RNA.
Initially, our country approved the deliveries of the first 4 companies, but the EC informed us that only Bulgaria refused to join Jansen, so it is now included as well.
The vaccines to be negotiated by the EC for Bulgaria will cost a total of BGN 140 million. However, in the near future, the state must contribute another 3,529 million euros to the EU, because two of the companies needed another 750 million euros to continue development, and the EU money has run out.
