Heavy rain and hail hit Istanbul, a city of nearly 16 million people. Bad weather disrupted the normal course of daily life for citizens and paralyzed traffic in the metropolis. This was reported by the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet, quoted by the FOCUS news agency.
Adverse weather conditions affected the Silivri, Buyukcekmece, Chataldja and Arnautkoy neighborhoods, as well as parts of the Anatolian side of the city.
The videos show streets whitewashed by hail. No specific data are given on the damage caused by the strong storm, at least at this time.
