The tragedy occurred shortly after 10 a.m. in the production area of the Kremikovtzi district of the capital. The two men climbed a tower to replace the site’s windows. However, as they worked, the technical team bowed sharply and the men fell onto the concrete.
Ambulance teams arrive 12 minutes after the signal is given. However, the workers’ injuries were incompatible with life and, despite resuscitation attempts, they died on the way to hospital.
“We haven’t seen anything, we don’t know the exact reason. We saw how they were taken out by ambulance. In serious condition, “explained a witness.

The major version being worked on is a platform malfunction. “This is a problem in the mechanics of the tower. The upper part has simply been tilted enough that both workers cannot stay,” said Kremikovtzi district mayor Lilia Donkova.

The construction company denied having had problems with the equipment. It will also investigate why the workers did not comply with the safety requirements.
“They were not secured with seat belts and fell directly on their heads under the ground,” Donkova added.
The men had many years of construction experience. The Technical Supervision Agency and the Labor Inspection began an inspection of the work.
