The five and one-and-a-half-month-old babies were burned in an abandoned house near Shumen. This morning, the mother of the children, aged five months and a half years, locked them in the building and went to water her horse. The woman, along with her four children, has settled in the abandoned villa, Shumen District Attorney Margarita Georgieva revealed.
In the mother’s absence, the building caught fire and then a gas cylinder exploded from the fire. The flames also engulfed the room where the children were.
An inspection of the accident, an abandoned villa in the area near the monastery near Shumen, is currently being carried out by investigators and forensic scientists from the OD of the Ministry of the Interior in the city under the leadership of the prosecutor’s office.
Preliminary proceedings have been started in the case, according to the Varna Appeal Prosecutor’s Office.
For now, it is believed that the cause of the fire, which killed the two children in the abandoned villa, was an illegal connection to the electricity grid, which caused a short circuit. Employees of the electricity transmission company are also at the scene of the tragic incident.
The researchers also looked for the woman’s third child, who has a total of four children. However, she was found in relatives and is alive and well. The woman’s fourth child was with her father at the time of the incident.
The investigation of the serious incident continues. The prosecutor’s office in Shumen and the OD of the Interior Ministry in the city will provide additional information on the tragedy when there is more information on the case.
