Two Bulgarians were sentenced in England to a total of 14 years in prison for possession of weapons and illegal drugs.

Kristian Hristev, 30, and Kristian Romanov, 24, were arrested in December after armed police surrounded the former’s home in Kent in connection with an investigation into organized crime in the city. They left the apartment after two hours, but the police stopped Romanov in his car.

During a search of her purse, a Glock pistol, model 42, with 10 rounds of ammunition was found. Prosecutor Vivian Walters said it was a particularly dangerous weapon and was only the second to be discovered by British police.

During the trial, Romanov claimed that he hoped to have a women’s blouse in his bag, which he was supposed to take from Hristev’s home. He, in turn, said his dog found the gun while walking him in a local park.

However, through phone data and DNA tests, investigators were able to prove that the weapon was his. They also found 33 cartridges. Some of them were hidden in a cache with 17 g of cocaine, and the rest were scattered on the roofs of neighboring houses.
