The president of the United States interrupted the recording of an interview for CBS TV’s “60 minutes” program and threatened to air it before its broadcast of the program on Sunday, in order to show the presenter’s “bias”, reported DPA and TASS .
CBS announced on Twitter that Trump had interrupted the interview with host Leslie Stoll, but did not provide further details.
According to CNN television, which cited two sources familiar with the incident, Trump spoke with Stall for 45 minutes, after which he abruptly interrupted the interview, saying he thought television had enough material. The president did not return for the second part of the recording, where he was to appear with Vice President Mike Pence.
Trump often accuses the American media of bias against him, but broadcasting the interview before its scheduled broadcast would be extremely unusual, DPA notes.
“I am pleased to inform you that, for the sake of accuracy, I intend to publish my interview with Leslie Stoll on the ’60 Minutes’ program prior to its broadcast,” the president wrote on his favorite Twitter account. “This will be done so that everyone can see what a false and biased interview is,” he added.
Trump also posted a short video on Twitter with footage of the presenter talking to him in front of other people. He noted that the video was filmed after the recording of the interview at the White House and noted that the presenter did not wear a protective mask.
