Tire killed a woman after crushing 11 cars in the center of Aytos, according to the OD of the Interior Ministry in Burgas. The serious accident occurred on Hadji Dimitar Street. This is the main road that cars travel from Rouen to the city’s roundabout.
The driver was tested for alcohol and drugs. The inspection revealed the presence of a narcotic substance: methamphetamine.
The incident occurred around 12:45 pm near the bus station. According to initial data, the truck entered the city through the Aytos pass and initially hit a pedestrian, the Interior Ministry announced. He continued his movement, hitting stopped cars on one of the busiest streets in the city. One of them had a gas system that ignited and caused an explosion after the collision and burned completely. A 28-year-old woman behind the wheel of the car died. The truck crashed into a fence at the edge of the road in Aytos.
Seven people were injured. Six of them were seriously injured and taken to hospital. The causes of the accident are being established. Teams from the Traffic Police, the Fire Brigade and the Central Medical Emergency Service are working at the site.
The probable cause of the accident was a problem with the truck’s brakes. The accident is being investigated by the district attorney’s office. And the official reason will become clear after the preparation of the automotive technical experience.
