A series of stricter restrictions against the spread of the coronavirus come into force in 10 districts of Bulgaria. The measures mainly affect schools and restaurants. The working hours of food and drink establishments are reduced, and in some places shopping centers, cinemas and theaters are closed.
If the situation continues to worsen, the gyms and shopping centers in Sofia will also be closed. For now, decisions are made at the regional level.
In Pleven, where almost 600 per 100,000 people are infected, strict measures have been introduced since midnight and for the next two weeks. Online training for students from 5th to 12th grade, closing malls, gyms, cinemas and theaters. Masks become a must when outdoors when a lot of people get together.
At Yambol, older students will study online from today until April 2. The complicated situation has forced an increase in hospital beds from 15 to 20%. The tightening of the measures from Friday will also take place in Sofia, Shumen and Burgas. Attendance at higher schools and extracurricular activities centers is suspended. Students in grades 5-12 will study online until March 26. The kindergartens remain open. Masks are becoming mandatory outdoors, where there is a crowd, and restaurants will close an hour early.
