“Imagine those people in the past with Belcho and Sivushka plowing the furrow, and now look at what there is,” said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, after examining agricultural machinery on a large cow farm. The visit was broadcast live on Facebook.
The prime minister was accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Desislava Taneva, and the Minister of Finance, Kiril Ananiev. Everyone in Bulgaria should feel that the state is not only talking to him about masks and keeping his distance, but supporting him and together we will overcome the crisis with the coronavirus, said the Prime Minister.
Boyko Borissov recalled that BGN 504 million has been set aside to help families in need of food, hygiene materials and accessories for children.
The funds are provided under the Operational Food Program and will be available in the period 2021-2027. 600,000 will benefit from the aid. For the first time, packages are provided for newborns from poor families, who will receive the most necessary: diapers, sanitary products and cosmetics for the baby after birth. A kitchen for children aged 10 months to three years will also be provided.
The Prime Minister said that measures for businesses and individuals will continue, and all needy Bulgarian citizens will be supported in the future. According to him, there have never been so many measures and funds destined for people, because the times have been financially disciplined to be able to enter the euro zone, the banking union.
