Car thief number 1 in Sofia: Lioness was arrested at her home. According to bTV, a total of 8 people were arrested during the action carried out yesterday.
These are people from the group of the famous car thief Stanislav Petkov – La Leona. He himself is also detained. Georgi Vodenichaov, close to him, Kiko, was also detained.
Initially, Asen Kolev – Hastara managed to escape from the police, but after a short search he was captured. A search was made at his girlfriend’s house.
Police attacked the homes of car dealerships early in the morning. The operation surprised people in the Manastirski Livadi district of Sofia, where the girlfriend of one of the detainees lives.
According to investigators, the group specializes in theft of extremely expensive automobiles. According to bTV, in addition to Stanislav Petkov – The Lioness, seven other of his accomplices are in custody, including his right hand – Georgi Vodenicharov – Kiko. Six hours after the action began, the police removed him from the building in full disguise.
For Vodenicharov, this is another arrest. In 2018, he was back behind bars after he was caught stealing a car and beating up three police cars in an attempt to escape the police.
The detained car dealers are suspected of stealing dozens of luxury cars and their leader, Stanislav Petkov, has so far not been convicted.
The Interior Ministry and the Special Prosecutor’s Office declined to comment, but said they had initiated a pre-trial process in the case.
The action and searches of the car dealers’ homes continued throughout the day.
Today, the court will decide whether they will remain in custody.
