Within a few hours, officers from the Criminal Crime Sector of the Interior Ministry – Veliko Tarnovo and the Regional Directorate – G. Oryahovitsa revealed a murder committed five years ago, the police announced.
A man from the village of Polikraishte received the case report on Saturday afternoon. He explained that while doing repair work on a newly purchased property, he found human remains in an open-air bathroom. The police teams were immediately dispatched to the address.
The alleged identity of the victim has been established from the operational search activities and the procedural-investigative actions. She is believed to have been missing since February 2015.
In March of the same year, she was declared wanted throughout the country. The cause of death is being clarified. Investigators quickly located the perpetrator, a 54-year-old man from the town of Polikraishte, known to the police.
He was indicted on Monday. By decree of the District Attorney – Veliko Tarnovo was detained for 72 hours. Documentation work on the case continues under the supervision of the prosecution.
