Roma barons Metodi Dimitrov and Traiko Stoyanov (Meto and Traicho) remain in custody, the court ruled.
They were arrested on Monday and charged with leaders of a criminal group for usury, organized crime, extortion and drug trafficking. The court’s motives are that Metón and Traicho could influence witnesses, especially since there is evidence in the case that many people were afraid to testify against them while both were at large.
The court did not accept the defense thesis that the witnesses against Meto and Traicho were people with whom they had a personal conflict. The other three detainees are released on bail of BGN 5,000, BNT reported.
According to the liberty court, they are not in danger of committing another crime and must take care of their families.
Today it became clear that there is data from the investigation that the group used a police umbrella by employees of the District 5 administration. If such evidence is gathered, accusations can also be made in this direction.
