The government will propose a BGN 40 minimum wage increase from 2021 to unions and employers. This was announced in Dobrich by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Denitsa Sacheva, reported BGNES.
Negotiations will be held soon with the partners of the tripartite cooperation council.
If the idea is accepted, the minimum wage in our country will be 650 BGN. It is currently BGN 610. Unions have already expressed their support for this proposal. But employers are against it.
Some of the employers’ organizations have spoken out against the proposal, but now we are going to hold talks and negotiations in that regard, Sacheva explained.
It is very important to have predictability in the economy; We made this request and announced our plans 4 years ago, so in this regard neither for employers nor for unions this should come as a surprise. This decision must be made within the next month, added the minister.
